When I see the words "alma mater|my old school|the place where I learned}", it doesn't evoke feelings of warmth and nostalgia. For me, it's a distant concept. It's not that I haven't appreciated my time at school. It was a valuable chapter, just not one that resonates in the way many people describe.

Seriously, school/the whole idea of/that thing they call "school spirit/spirit week/pep rallies" is about as appealing/relevant/interesting to me as a moldy sandwich/root canal/trip to the dentist. I'd rather be practicing my guitar/reading a good book/taking a nap than wearing my school colors and screaming at some game I couldn't care less about. I value knowledge, not glorified cheering.

Let's be real, sometimes gathering/ chilling/hanging out with people/ friends/squad is all about the spread/ feast/ bounty! I mean, who can resist a good platter/ selection/ assortment of tasty treats/ goodies/ munchies? It's like a buffet/ an oasis/ the promised land of deliciousness/ yumminess/ pure snacking heaven.
